Out To Get Me
paranoia is the only friend that I know
“Fuck! Do you hear that? “
“I’m going to die!”
“Shhh, they’re coming back,”
“We’re all going to die!”
“Shut up! What the fuck is this place?”
- ONE WEEK EARLIER –
The sun is bright and the music is blasting as a group of friends travel their last summer together in a beat down Honda accord. Four brutal year of college has now led up to the time to start careers they’ll probably be working for fifty plus years. To start obligations where road trips and wild parties are no longer an option. When the time to create chaos, memories and wild experiences without consequences was coming to end. The group traveled to a distant place south of Spain into a tiny remote village near the shore. The place was welcoming and known as one of the greatest tourist spot in the area. The weather was beautiful and the tides where just right as paradise was defined in front of their faces.
Days have passed and the trip was nearly done as the group of friends decided to go on their last adventures before they made the long trip back home in a couple of days. With little time left they decided to do a little investigating into a rumor circulating around the town they had been staring in. Rumor has it that a village nearby was cursed for sins committed by their ancestors and anyone born there would be forced to life and die without ever knowing anywhere else. Curious and hesitant to believe the rumors, the group of friends got into their vehicle and traveled into the nameless plot of land where they entered what begins to be their worst nightmare.
The village seemed normal, beautiful in fact. Untouched by the outside world. Antique looking buildings and people whose beauty was unexplainable. The smiles on the faces were welcoming as they lend an open arm to the tourists that just arrived. The morning was great; new friendly faces and new friends to remember and as the sun began to set the citizens fled quickly into their homes. Confused and unaware the new comers entered their new dwellings just to realize that it was all true. The moon rose as well as the spirits of the village. Windows swung open and doors flew off their latches as the village became alive once more. The once peaceful conversations and welcoming smiles became screeches and glares. Anger, Jealousy and Infamy flooded the area and brutal violence began to spread. Personalities altered and the animal within emerged as each man was after another.
The group was flabbergasted, afraid and unsure of the recent events. They started to pack up to leave right away, but they were soon to find that they couldn’t make an escape into the night. Stuck, confused and downright terrified out group of friends have to wait to see what the morning brings.
